I hand-carve each of my wood pieces individually using knives and gouges. These pens are carved full-round (carving extends all the way around) from pen-blank blocks of Basswood, Butternut, Mahogany, or Spanish Cedar. They are left unsanded to maintain the carved details of the expression, the hair, and the beard, and are not stained, dyed, or painted except for black and white paint for the eyes to make the faces come alive. Since each piece is carved individually, no two will be identical. The piece you receive may differ slightly from the photos.
This piece is drilled to accept a standard plastic pen refill tube and tip. Pen comes with one pen insert as shown in the photo, and the pen inserts are easily replaceable once they run out.
